THE AGORAPHOBIC TRAVELLER DIRECTS AMAZING LEXUS UX PHOTOSHOOT – FROM 3,000 KM AWAY

To celebrate the launch of the new Lexus UX compact crossover, Lexus Europe has collaborated with elusive photography phenomenon and influencer Jacqui Kenny, known as The Agoraphobic Traveller, to complete what was probably the world’s first remotely directed artistic photoshoot, embodying the Lexus UX ethos of challenging preconceptions and never being constrained by circumstances.

Jacqui Kenny explores the world using the internet from the comfort of her own home in London, capturing extraordinary images from around the globe. In full support of her art, a UX, equipped with 360° video camera, took Jacqui on a digital journey to beautiful Lanzarote, a place she has never visited. Pushing the boundaries of technology and production, Jacqui remotely directed a photoshoot at a number of locations around the island, capturing unique lifestyle imagery of the UX from over 3,000 km away

“I’m really excited to be collaborating with Lexus on this remotely directed photoshoot to launch the new Lexus UX.” says Jacqui Kenny, The Agoraphobic Traveller. “Due to living with agoraphobia, travelling far away is often difficult for me, so it’s amazing to have the opportunity to explore the world in a new way and discover extraordinary and surprising new things in the process.”

Infused with dynamic attitude, the UX is engineered to deliver quick and engaging driving with a Lexus-smooth demeanour, making it a unique entry in the luxury compact crossover segment. It offers the brand’s innovative luxury and safety in a package that combines bold new design elements and ultra-efficient new powertrains.

“The Lexus UX is designed for the modern urban explorer seeking a fresh, contemporary and dynamic take on luxury driving,” said Ms. Chika Kako, executive vice president of Lexus International and chief engineer of the UX. “We designed the UX to appeal to young buyers who seek not only what is new and exciting, but what is also relevant to their lifestyles.”

The Lexus UX will be available for pre-order from October 2018.
