LEXUS ON POLE POSITION AT SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS

• A Lexus RC F LMGT3 race car will start the second round of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) race from the front

• Rising star Hadrien David recorded the fastest time in the #78 Lexus RC F LMGT3 entered by the AKKODIS ASP Team

• Lexus is pushing boundaries and establishing itself as a genuine contender in its third season of WEC competition

Lexus won pole position for the second round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) after the RC F LMGT3 race car delivered a spectacular qualifying performance at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium.

The #78 Lexus RC F LMGT3 entered by AKKODIS ASP Team earned pole position for the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, repeating the team’s achievement of last season.

Lexus is establishing its motorsport credentials by challenging more established racing brands and pushing boundaries, whilst providing opportunities for different drivers – including young hopefuls and ambitious gentlemen drivers – to participate at the highest level of sportscar competition.

The 22-year-old Frenchman Hadrien David set a best lap time of 2 minutes 16.612 seconds in his RC F LMGT3 on the demanding 7.004 km Spa-Francorchamps circuit during the decisive Hyperpole session. Earlier, his team-mate Tom van Rompuy had qualified the #78 car for Hyperpole.

Two RC F LMGT3 cars entered by AKKODIS ASP Team will compete in the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on Saturday, the pole-sitting #78 of David, van Rompuy and Esteban Masson, and the #87 of Petru Umbrărescu, Clemens Schmid and José María López which qualified fourth.

The RC F LMGT3 car, an authentic racing version of the high-performance RC F coupe which is homologated for competition, is a relative newcomer to WEC competition, having made its debut in February 2024. The 2025 season was a breakthrough campaign for the RC F LMGT3, which won two races and helped AKKODIS ASP Team finish third in the FIA Endurance Trophy for LMGT3 Teams.
