This milestone is reached 5 years after the model’s introduction in Western Europe, and 33 years since the ES 250 jointly launched the Lexus brand, initially in the USA only, alongside the larger LS 400 sedan.

The ES is currently the second best-selling Lexus of all time, behind the RX crossover, which has so far chalked up 3.6 million sales globally. The ES was also Lexus’ second most popular model during calendar year 2022, selling 167,628 units worldwide to the RX’s 178,234 units. Of the seven occasions in which annual ES sales have exceeded 100,000 units, four were the years 2019-2022.

In Europe, the ES ranked fourth in Lexus’ 2022 sales chart (4,895 units) and is a very important model in the fleet sector. It remains Lexus’ best-selling sedan in the region, in a line-up otherwise dominated by the RX, NX and UX crossovers .

Since first appearing in 1989, the ES has established itself as a core model in the E-premium segment, attracting private and business drivers alike. The model has been praised widely for its luxurious and spacious cabin, class-leading comfort, exceptional quietness, refined ride, and intuitive driving behaviour.

The current generation ES is built on Lexus’ acclaimed Global Architecture – K (GA-K) platform, which gave designers the opportunity to explore the limits of sedan design with ‘provocative elegance’. The long wheelbase enables the wheels to be pushed close to the corners, with wider front and rear treads, while the platform also allows for a low bonnet and sweeping coupé roofline.

The ES is available in Western and Central European markets since 2018 as the ES 300h, featuring a smooth and efficient fourth generation self-charging Lexus Hybrid Drive system. In other global markets the ES is also available with different petrol engine options as the ES 200, ES 250, and ES 350.

lexus,ES,ES 300h,lexus es,ES 350
