Lexus is 300h awarded 'best in class' for safety by euro ncap

The new Lexus IS 300h has been awarded 'Best in Class Car of 2013' by Euro NCAP, which commended the premium sedan for its outstanding safety performance in the 'Large Family Car' category.

The new Lexus IS achieved a maximum five-star rating, scoring 91% for Adult Occupant, 85% for Child Occupant, 80% for Pedestrian Protection and 66% for Safety Assist. These figures are well above the minimum required to achieve five stars.

Each year, Euro NCAP identifies the models that have achieved the highest test scores in their respective classes. In 2013, a total of 33 cars were tested in 7 different categories. 'Best in Class' winners are vehicles which have achieved the highest overall scores, calculated from the results in adult, child and pedestrian protection, and safety assist tests.
