'fleet car of the year 2014' award for lexus is 300h in germany

The Lexus IS 300h has been awarded 'Fleet Car of the Year 2014' in the 'Imported Middle Class' segment by the German magazine FirmenAuto and the inspection organization DEKRA, in Europe's largest comparison test of its kind.

The jury — a panel of 280 fleet managers - tested no less 71 vehicles in 11 categories. They performed about 2,000 comparative test drives and drove over 50,000 kilometres in total.

The third generation Lexus IS seduced the jury not only by its bold design, impressive building quality and comfort but also thanks to its dynamic performance and low cost of ownership. These two criteria have played an important role in the allocation of the award to the IS.

The new IS 300h is equipped with the second generation Lexus Hybrid Drive system, which returns class-leading CO2 emissions as from 99 g/km. The IS' full hybrid drive system combines a powerful 105 kW/143 DIN hp electric motor with a newly developed, 2.5 litre, 133 kW/181 DIN hp for a total system power of 164 kW/223 DIN hp.
